Console Videos – Old School Video Games https://www.os-vg.com Where old games and systems go to retire. Tue, 25 Apr 2023 15:48:10 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.2.14 Collection additions https://www.os-vg.com/?p=104 Tue, 25 Apr 2023 15:48:10 +0000 http://www.os-vg.com/?p=104 Someone posted about an old-school TRS-80 in the box and I decided to check it out. I got it and while talking to him, found out that his neighbor had a collection of atari stuff that she wanted to get rid of so I decided to check it out. Well, it was a huge collection of stuff and not just Atari…

I will need to do an inventory and I will probably do that this weekend. That said, I did manage to take a few pictures and I hope that a few of these will make good blog posts for system and console restorations.

Enjoy 🙂

]]> One Step Closer https://www.os-vg.com/?p=52 Thu, 26 Jan 2023 20:04:30 +0000 http://www.os-vg.com/?p=52 We always want to get a good quality video of actual console gameplay but the older you go into the console world, the harder it is to get good clear pictures. Before HDMI, there was VGA/Component, Composite, and RF. RF is connected either by coax cable or before that, a switch box with rabbit ear connectors. It is very hard to get a clear picture and harder to record since both video and audio are on the same connection. At least until now that is, we have just acquired an Ambery RFDM1R Coax A/V agile Demodulator TV tuner. If this sounds a bit like Marvin the martian describing his weapon of choice, we thought that too but this bad boy takes RF coax signals and splits them into Composite signals. Video and 2-channel audio are ready to be recorded and streamed.

If you are looking for one, we included the link and will be adding our first video shortly after setup.

Stay tuned.
